Way too long...

It's been more than three months since I last wrote here, and it hasn't been for a lack of want. It's a strange thing having a blog. I find myself wanting to write about personal stuff and then pulling away from the urge, which results in no writing at all. I really want to keep this up and not get hung up on the too-personal-not-good-enough-not-relevant-it's-stupid-who-cares?-who's-going -to-read-this-anyway? excuses. Here's what has happened during the last few months:

At the beginning of October I handed in the dissertation that put a close to my Masters. The painful year came to an end. It was a worthwhile experience and I do not regret one single bit having gone through it, but, after five years in college, I had had enough of the academic elite's bullshit and arrogance. However, I will try my best to put all that behind me and concentrate on all the wonderful things I learned! :)

I was working in a Dublin youth hostel as a Receptionist since the summer, and after many memorable encounters, friendships and fun-times it was time to say goodbye. It was the most chilled out job I have ever had. I will miss it. But the real world beckons... or does it? I don't even know what I mean by "real world"... anyway, as I often say, my time there had come to an end. It was time to move on to the next thing... and the "next thing" being my Christmas job in the post office :) All is good there, apart from the fact that, it seems, the Recession is having an impact on the amount of Christmas cards people are sending! Not even a third of the volume that they are used to seeing during the run up to Christmas has made an appearance. Crazy...

Anyway... now to the most exciting news: I have secured myself a job as the translator of a magazine. It's only published once every three months. It will be perfect for when I go traveling next March! Myself (and my love) will be traveling to Central and South America for an indefinite period of time. How exciting!

Ok, I'll leave it here for today.
